To commemorate the occasion a plaque made from Stainless Steel measuring 22.9 by 19.4 CM was mounted on the ladder of the Lunar Module descent stage. Printed on the plaque was a representation of the globe, a dedication, the signatures of the three astronauts, and President Nixon's signature. All of the subsequent manned moon missions carried a plaque attached in the same locations. The plaques on missions Apollo 12 to Apollo 16 differed slightly as they did not include a dedication or the Presidents Signature. Apollo 17, being the last planned landing of the program continued in the vein of the Apollo 11 plaque with the inclusion of a dedication and President Nixon's Signature
