Prior to a mission NASA produce News Releases, and or, Press-kits. These are distributed to interested parties, and primarily to Press representatives. They are a summary of the upcoming mission, containing facts, figures, dates and times. Contractors who produced and manufactured items for NASA also prepared brochures relating to the upcoming flights as well. The news release in the collection is from the early part of the Apollo program, and is from one of the Saturn test flights. The document is 52 pages long and is quite detailed technically. Aside from the vehicle description there is a brief history of preceding flights, and also mention of the future events planned for the program. The flight was the first to be launched from pad 37B, and there is a detailed of LC37 and its construction.
