The Saturn I was the predecessor to the Saturn IB and it was flown on 10 occasions. SA-5 was the first Block II version. It was notable as the firs time that the vehicle flew with a second stage, and the first Apollo rocket to fly an orbital mission
Preliminary works for the model were started in August 2025. This comprised of drawing the complete model apart from the first stage H1 engines. The vehicle was modelled using Fusion 360. Reference drawings used to draw the vehicle were found on Meatball Rocketry's website. The drawings were originally produced by Peter Alway. Josh Tschirhart is the creator of the Meatball Rocketry site and it was from his Shapeways shop that I purchased a set of H1 engines for the AS-202 model.
