A cover that was used to blank off a communications/Electrical connection on an Apollo spacesuit,
The wire would have secured the cover to the spacesuit
A view from the rear shows the small all bearings that engage in a groove to keep the cover locked in place, the red O ring acts as a seal
The item was produced by Air Lock Incorporated, their logo can be seen
There were various attachment point on the front of the Apollo spacesuit that allowed for umbilical's to be connected. These umbilical's provided oxygen, water, and took away exhaled breath. In addition was a communications connection that was used to connect a microphone/earpiece system. When the connection was not in use it was protected with a cover such as the one above
