The Items have been placed into categories for ease of reference.
The following page contains a list of people and companies from where the items were obtained from.
The bulk of the text was written by me, with the odd section a copy and paste from Wikipedia. The only real exception to this is the description of the Patch flown aboard the International Space Station, that was reproduced with the kind permission of Richard garner the owner of the Space collective, from whom I bought the patch. Chris Spain the creator of the website Crew Patches also gave his kind permission to include material from his site.

For those of you that might be a little unfamiliar with the ins and outs of the subject here a a few pointers to some of the terms and abbreviations used in the following pages.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration is an independent agency of the United States Federal Government responsible for the civilian space program, as well as aeronautics and space research, created in 1958.
Was a term coined for the efforts made by the United States & the Russian governments to place a man on the moon. Both sides saw space supremacy as an ideal tool to show their technical and political supremacy. Space supremacy was also seen as a very powerful political & military tool.
This was the first manned space program undertaken by the United States, its aim being to place the first Americans into earth Orbit. (1958-1963)
This was a logical progression on from the Mercury program, bigger launch vehicles, two man capsules. It was a dress rehearsal for learning many of the techniques that would be needed to achieve the Lunar Landing that was to come later. (1961-1966)
The name and what it achieved is probably recognised by anyone who has more that just a passing interest in space. The goal was set by President Kennedy of landing a man on the moon and returning him home safely in a speech in 1962. The target he set was by the end of the decade, which was achieved when Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon on July 20th 1969 (1961-1973).
This was Americas first space station, it was created using leftover hardware from the Apollo Program (1973-1974)
Apollo Soyuz Test Program was a one off flight, also using leftover Apollo hardware. Carried out in earth orbit it was a hook up between an American and a Russian spacecraft . It showed a thawing of relationships between the two superpowers and went partway to easing tensions during the cold war. It was the last time that Apollo hardware was used. (1975)
A "Space Rocket" is made up of several different parts, and the launch vehicle is the section that provides the platform and the power to send the whole "Rocket" up into earths orbit where its job is done, if the mission is to be carried out close to the earth. In the case of a Lunar Mission its secondary task is to propel who or whatever onward to their destination.
This is the section that sits on top of the Launch Vehicle and is a vehicle or machine designed to fly in outer space. A type of artificial satellite, spacecraft are used for a variety of purposes, including communications, Earth observation, meteorology, navigation, space colonization, planetary exploration, and transportation of humans and cargo.
This was a name that was used to describe the early spacecraft, particularly the Mercury & Gemini Spacecraft.
As the collection mostly contains Apollo related items here is a brief description of the hardware used, the names and the abbreviations used to describe the parts.
The Saturn V, The Instrument Unit and everything below it is part of the Launch Vehicle. The three sections above are the Spacecraft
The Command & Service Module or CSM is the spacecraft the was the home to the three astronauts on the outward and return legs of the lunar journey. It is made up of two parts. The Service Module or SM which is the cylindrical section that carried all the Fuel, and Oxygen and was equipped with the engine to propel itself. The second part is the Command Module or CM and is the conical section, this was the only part of the Saturn V rocket that eventually floated down to the Ocean suspended by three parachutes at journeys end
The Lunar Module or LM, is the spaceraft that was used to ferry the astronauts to the lunar surface, provided them with a home whilst they were there, and then took them back to the CSM that was waiting for them in Lunar Orbit
Here is an image of what the two Apollo spacecraft would have appeared like on their journey to the moon
