Fred Haise who was the Lunar module pilot on the Mission removed some items from the LM as souvenirs prior to in being jettisoned and burning up in earths atmosphere. Part of his intention was to distribute pieces of the stowage assembly to workers who had built, tested and assembled the craft in recognition of the outstanding performance it had shown

The photo here shows the stowage assembly in use aboard the Aquarius. Before the Lunar Module was jettisoned Fred Haise removed some items to keep as souvenirs. Amongst these were a hand controller and this stowage assembly. The netting was clipped with press studs to the walls of the Lunar Module, items could be tucked behind it to stop them floating around in microgravity. The section in the collection was cut from this, and is approximately 50mm by 20mm (2" by 3/4")

The item was purchased from Richard Garner, and as with all the pieces that Richard sell there comes a fantastic certificate of authenticity. The certificate that came with the piece takes the form of a booklet in this case, and it is very well presented and contains a great deal of information
