There are a great number of books that have been written about the “Space Race”, and the space programs. In keeping with the collection, the main focal point of the small collection of books I have is Apollo related. This is not all of them as there are an amount tucked away in storage that I currently have no access to. Most of them are physical copies, a few are e-books on the Kindle. Some of the older publications are only available in hard copy. It is by no means a significant collection as I have not gone out with the intent of collecting books, it is just a by product of my interest in space history. Three of them are Autographed, one by design, one I was lucky with, one was a very welcome surprise. The one by design was a copy of Al Worden’s (Apollo 15) book, he signed it for me and is inscribed to my son Ben. The lucky one was a copy of Wally Schirra’s book that I bought second hand from an Amazon seller, when received I opened it up and to my surprise it was signed by Wally. This is by no means a unique happening as instances of it happening are seen on Facebook memorabilia groups reasonably regularly. The third was a gift to me and is a copy of a book signed by the Author. The book in question is by Jon Hancock, who also very graciously mentioned me in the credits, and is titled Apollo 11 Photography, the Epic Journey of Magazine “S”. A more detailed description is included alongside the image of the book.
